Friends and Family,

My passion for helping others in need and experiencing new cultures and ways of life has brought me here, volunteering in Ghana, Africa in a medical clinic. I will be in Africa for a total of 3 weeks working in a small village at their local medical clinic. I decided to go to Africa because I no longer want Africa to be a distant country that I read about in the New York Times or vicariously experience through friends that have traveled their. I want to experience it for myself, I want to learn about the way of live in Ghana and experience their culture.

I chose to work in the health clinic because I am planning on obtaining my PhD in International Health Psychology and I want to study and research the health concerns outside of the United States. I am so blessed to be embarking on this journey and have the opportunity to help others in need and also learn a great deal about the culture in Ghana. Thank you for all your support and your wisdom.
